1. Name
The name of the Association shall be the Sandy And District Horticultural Association
2. Aims
To provide a social gathering for people who like to grow things or take part in creative activities.
3. Affiliation
The Association shall be affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Association.
4. Membership
Membership shall be available for any person over the age of 16 paying a full membership fee.
Full members may be Officials of the Association and shall have full voting rights.
5. Officers
The following shall be officers of the Association
President
Chairman
Vice-Chairman
Show Secretary
Show Manager
Treasurer
Minute Secretary
Assistant Show Manager
Press Officer
Exhibits Secretary
Association Secretary
Press/Publicity Officer
6. Financial
The Association shall open a bank account as agreed at an ordinary meeting of the Committee and as recorded as a resolution in the Minute Book.
7. Committee
The Committee shall consist of the Officers and up to six other members nominated at the Annual General Meeting.
The Committee shall have the power of co-option.
Meetings shall be held monthly on a regular date.
The Minute Secretary shall record notes of each meeting that shall be agreed at the subsequent meeting.
8. Subscriptions
The level of subscriptions paid by members shall be agreed at the Annual General Meetings.
9. Annual Show
The Association shall organise an Annual Show. Entry to all classes shall be open to all unless restricted by age or experience.
10. Other Events
The Committee is empowered to organise such other events that promote the Aims of the Association.
11. Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Association shall be held in October of each year.
All members shall be notified of the Agenda at least 14 days before the meeting.
12. Insurance
Public Liability Insurance shall be arranged on an annual basis.
13. Financial Year
The Financial Year of the Association shall be from 1st October to the following 30th September.
13. Amendments
Amendments shall only be made to the Rules at a General Meeting of the Membership for which due notice shall be given.
14. Dissolution
In the event of winding up of the Association any remaining funds will be donated to local charities.
