Britain declared war on Germany on 4th August 1914.
The 1914 Sandy Show which at that date was in the late planning stages was abandoned.
A meeting of The Committee at The Assembly Rooms on Friday 29th August heard that as a result of the cancellation of the show
the Society had liabilities of £201 6s 9d.
